Title: Main Motion Gear-Box

Project description: The work was carried out within the framework of a term project for the course "Metal-Cutting Machines". A parametric model of the gear-box for the main motion of the vertical milling machine is presented at competition. The model allows the user to specify main parameters of the gear-box and automatically obtain a kinematic scheme, structural net and the plot of rotation frequencies, the plot of power and torque, assembly drawing of the gear-box, 3D assembly and the bill of materials. In addition, it is possible to automatically calculate the service life of used bearings, the loft of the gear box. The project enables the user to determine approximately the stiffness of the front and rear supports of the gear box, and elastic displacement of the spindle at end point.

Title: Designing Mechanical Workshop of Machine-Tool Plant

Project description: Technological and structural aspects of design of mechanical shop of a machine-tool plant are presented at the competition. 3D models of the main parts of the design were worked out for a diploma project. All drawings included in the project were also created in the T-FLEX CAD system.

Project description: In the framework of the project a detailed development of the automobile generator's structure was performed, 3D parametric models of parts and the component assemblage were created. Moreover, the technical documentation package was developed: assembly drawing, bill of materials, draft drawings of parts (selectively). Dimensions were measured directly using the parts of the disassembled generator. The standard elements of the Russian industry do not fit exactly Japanese parts - bearings, nuts, bolts, and studs. As a consequence, it was necessary to change several dimensions in the internal database of the given bearings and bolts. Animation of the generator with the help of built-in capabilities of T-FLEX CAD with a recording of the corresponding video-file was performed. The 3D assembly consists of 183 bodies, and several of the bodies have quite complicated geometry.

Project description: Water pump presented at competition is designed for cooling a ship engine with outboard water. Pump's frame belongs to the category of shell structures with a geometrically complicated space shape. Complicated shape and geometric dimensions of such frames are indented for creating required jets of gases and liquids. 3D assembly of the pump is parametric and carried out with a careful detailing. The elements of the T-FLEX CAD libraries were used as standard parts. In spite of the fact that the assembly consists of a moderate number of solid parts (115), many of them have spatial geometry.

Project description: The internal database for every part of the assembly unit was created in the computer model. While designing the 3D model, the user can select the desired elements of the structure from the internal database. Parametric model of the mold allows the user to obtain standard structures of parts "Cap" with a range of diameter dimensions 30-45 mm. If required, the internal database can be augmented. When changing parameters of individual parts of the mold, the total assembly model is automatically recalculated.

Title: Technological Process and Processing Site for Part "Shaft"

Project description: At the competition the diploma project on the topic "Design the site for mechanical processing of part, develop efficient technological process, evaluate economical efficiency of the design of the part "Shaft 25-15" was presented. The design of the real part "Shaft 25-15", used in the mechanism of back-blow in the plant FGUP PO "Barrikady", was implemented. Drawings of the part, blank, tools and accessories were performed in the program T-FLEX CAD 2D and T-FLEX CAD 3D. For the operation 015, the control program was developed in T-FLEX CAM. Technological process was designed with the use of the T-FLEX Technology program. Particular attention in the project was paid to a design of special mill-centralizing device. The design of the device was based on the already existing design with several modifications. The new device was manufactured from the created drawings.

Project description: The fragment "Master of graphics annotation" allows the T-FLEX CAD user to quickly and easily annotate the graph constructed in Cartesian coordinate system. By using the "Master of graphics annotation", it is possible to significantly speed up the process of annotating the graphs. The user can just place the fragment on the drawing field, modify required parameters of the fragment and graph annotation will be completed at that. The fragment has a capability to independently put the axis tick labels (intermediate values of a certain variable), operate with various number formats (standard, exponential, proper and improper fractions). The fact that graph annotation is implemented in the form of a fragment allows the user to work with the graph without changing its annotation (using filters) and, also, work with graphs having hidden its annotation with a single command.

Project description: The goal of a project is to demonstrate the flight of an aircraft with elements of aerobatics, with a display of work of glider mechanization. Animation is implemented with the help of animation editor. During animation, upon visualizing the flight of an aircraft with elements of aerobatics, it is shown how mechanization of wing and empennage functions. By controlling the perspective, it is possible to see how various elements of control system perform during the flight. The future development will entail putting in a camera control and three-dimensional aircraft cockpit with elements of control (control column, pedals, etc.)

Title: Automobile UAZ Model

Project description: A simplified model of the automobile UAZ (standard) was created in the scale 1:5, by approximate measurements of a real car dimensions. The design method "From Bottom to Top" was used. The model UAZ (tuning) was created on the basis of UAZ (standard). With the help of a command "Animation", the video film was recorded. There are mates in the 3D assembly: it is possible to open a driver's door and steer the wheel.

Project description: The model of automobile Peugeot is created in approximate manner, from pictures of a journal. Besides a frame of an automobile, an engine and suspension are designed. Due to presence of mates in the model, it is possible to observe the car operation by rotating the crankshaft. Moreover, it is possible to open a door and steer the wheel.

Project description: Bolide model BMW Sauber was created by using educational version T-FLEX CAD 10. The model was implemented from photographs. In addition to capabilities of creating 3D models, other T-FLEX capabilities such as variables specification, animation, light source, camera control were used while designing. With the help of animation, a video film was created based on the 3D model.

Project description: The author came up with an idea of a chandelier model during a room renovation, when it was necessary to replace an existing chandelier by a new one. Unfortunately, at the time of a purchase, only a poor collection of chandeliers was offered for sale, which made the author invent an individual model of a new chandelier. The model was used as an illustration of the desired structure of the chandelier upon its manufacturing.

Project description: The purpose of this work is a visual demonstration of structure and operation principles of a tower crane. Structurally, the crane represents a system of trusses. In the absence of drawings, quite a lot of time was spent on creating the given model. Careful visual observation of a crane structure at the construction site nearest to the house allowed the author to maintain proportions of individual modules with respect to each other and, overall, of the entire model of the crane. The motion of a cable lifting the load was specified via the variable denoting the displacement along one of the coordinate axes. The crane displacement along the rail track was specified with the help of another variable.

The threads are characterized by the absence of thread partitioning. Parametric modeling of all elements of the design was executed in the T-FLEX CAD.
