Automenu of various 2D elements editing and creation commands may contain the following option:
<I> |
Select Other Element |
It may be activated, after selecting an element for editing or for creating a new element based on the selected one. Activate this option, in order to sequentially switch selection between elements of the same type as the initially selected element. If the first 3D element was selected by the parent 2D element, then this option will switch selection between all 3D elements of the same type based on 2D elements. If the first element was selected in 3D window, then the selection will loop through all 3D elements of the same type laying within the selection ray. The selection ray is directed perpendicular to the screen plane and goes through the point of the cursor position at the moment of selection. Only those elements will be selectable which are located close enough to the point of the cursor.
The example of switching selection using this option in the Edge Blend command |
Initially, upon clicking the vertex with , all edges joined at this vertex are selected. Then the sequential activations of the Select Other Element option switch the selection between: •each of the initially selected edges; •face located under the cursor at front side of the body at the moment of initial selection; •all edges of the body; •each of the loops containing initially selected edges; •edges joined at the vertex located under the cursor at back side of the body at the moment of initial selection; •each of the edges mentioned in the previous item; •face located under the cursor at back side of the body at the moment of initial selection; •each of the loops containing edges joined at the vertex located under the cursor at back side of the body at the moment of initial selection. |
