There are three types of light sources - point, directional and projector.
Point light source emits the light from one point in all directions over the whole 3D scene.
It has no certain direction of light. Therefore, in order to create a point light source, you should specify only its position.

Directional light source emits the light in a certain direction over the whole 3D scene.
Therefore, in order to create a directional light source, you should specify its position and direction of light.

Spot light source emits a light cone from a given point in a certain direction with the specified drop-off rate.
Therefore, in order to create a spot light source, you should specify its position, direction of light and beam angle.

The documents with sample constructions of all types of light sources can be found in the Examples library located in the folder: Additional resources/Light Sources.
