A level of an element, which is currently selected or being edited, can be set in the Level input box available in the Style group of commands in various tabs of the ribbon near the button of the Levels command:

When using the textual interface, the level input box is available in the System toolbar.
Moreover, you can edit a level in element's parameters dialog.
A level may be defined via a numeric variable.
