Trim and Restore 2D Constructs

Trim

The command trims construction lines and circles. Construction lines are represented as line segments or arcs bounded by nodes. If there are no nodes on a line, such line cannot be trimmed.

Trimming depends on combination of values of the Length parameter in document parameters (Document Parameters > Page > View > Construction lines) and in parameters of a particular line.

Following length values might be set in line's parameters:

•Default;

•Truncated;

•Infinite.

Regardless of the set value, initially the line is created infinite. This parameter takes effect in combination with document parameters upon calling the Trim command.

Following length values might be set in document parameters:

•Default truncated
The Trim command will only trim those lines, whose length is set to Default and Truncated.

•Default infinite
The Trim command will only trim those lines, whose length is set to Truncated.

•All truncated
The Trim command will trim all lines, regardless of their parameters.

•All infinite
The Trim command will not trim any lines, regardless of their parameters.

Length of trimmed lines' extent beyond bounding nodes is defined by the Extents parameter (Document Parameters > Page > View > Construction lines).

The way of selecting trimmed lines depends on value of the Search parameter in document parameters  (Document Parameters > Page > View > Construction lines). By default this parameter is set to In limits, so, in order to select a trimmed line, you have to move the cursor over its part kept upon trimming. If you change the value of this parameter to Infinite, then, in order to select a trimmed line, you may also move the cursor over its parts hidden upon trimming (the whole line will be highlighted upon moving the cursor over it).

Restore

The command restores display of infinite length of construction lines trimmed by the Trim command.
