Units of Measurement for Element's Parameters

Предыдущая страницаВ началоСледующая страница

Different parameters are measured in different units. Take a look at right side of parameter's input box, in order to find out its units of measurement.

If no units are displayed there, then they're defined in document parameters for all parameters of the corresponding type at once (mass, length, force). If a standard unit's symbol is displayed, then units can be changed directly in the input box individually for this particular parameter.

For length and taper angle units can be defined directly in their input boxes
For thin wall thickness units are defined in document parameters.

Unit of measurement for elements of 3D scene are defined in the 3D tab of the document parameters dialog. Mass, Length and Force units are available.

Unit of measurement for drawing elements are defined individually for each page in the Paper tab of the document parameters dialog. Length units only are available there.

In both cases, selected units are also applied as defaults for input boxes, that allow individual selection of units.

When changing units in document parameters, parameters of existing elements (except whose units are defined manually in parameter's input box) are not converted into new units. I.e. their numerical values of parameters do not change, while actually parameters of elements change. Effect of units change becomes visible upon full regeneration.

Angle is always measured in degree and fractions of degree. If you need to define an angle in minutes and seconds, use the Enter angle option.

Aforementioned settings do not affect units for dimensions in a drawing. Such units are defined individually for each page in the Dimensions tab of the document parameters dialog.

Changing units of measurement in an input box

If units of measurement are displayed in the right side of parameter's input box, then they can be changed individually for this particular parameter. Click mouse left the displayed units. A menu will appear, where you can select other units. Value of the parameter will be converted into new units. Converted values for each of the available units are shown in the right side of the menu. Upon changing units this way, they no longer depend on document parameters, i.e. if you change units for corresponding type of parameters in the document parameters dialog, units of this particular parameter won't change.
