Pressing on a material in the Materials window invokes the contextual menu containing following commands:
•Apply to Model
This command is similar to drag&dropping a material into 3D scene window.
If the document contains only a single body, then, upon calling the command, the material will be added into document. Then, if it's a coating material, it will be instantly applied to all faces of the body, or, if it's a body material, the Apply Material window will appear.
If the document contains multiple materials, then, upon calling the command, the system will ask if you want to apply material to all bodies.
If you press the Cancel button, the material won't be added into the document.
If you press the No button, the material will be added into the document, but won't be applied to any of the bodies.
If you press the Yes button, the material will be added into the document. Then, if it's a coating material, it will be instantly applied to all faces of the body, or, if it's a body material, the Apply Material window will appear.
This command is not available for coating materials.
The command assigns a value to the $Material2 hidden variable. The assigned value is equal to the name of the selected material. The variable is used for displaying the material name in the parameters of current document's top level product composition record.
If the assortment data is filled for the material, then individual parts of this data are used as values of multiple variables, which define parameters of current document's top level product composition record:
•Add to Product Composition
The command creates a record based on the selected material in the product composition of the current document. If the assortment data is filled for the material, then individual parts of this data are used for filling individual columns of product composition. The Description column will contain the full assortment data.
Adding a material to product composition doesn't affect the main material of the document.
•Copy to Document
Adds the material into the current document without applying it.
