Local section allows to cut a particular area of a projection. Cut area is limited by an arbitrary user-defined contour. Cutting plane is parallel to a parent projection's plane and passes through a point selected by the user. It could be either 3D point in 3D scene or 2D node on another projection.
Local section can be created either using the common 2D Projection command, or using the separate Local Section View command.
The are two modes of the Local Section View command:
Within Projection Local section gets created as a part of a main projection. Contour of a cut area is either created manually in the process of creating a local section (spline, circle, ellipse or a rectangle), or formed by projecting a selected 3D profile onto a cutting plane. |
Application A local section created in this mode is a separate projection, which overlaps the main projection. You can either create a spline defining contour of sectioned area in the process of creating a section, or use a pre-created hatch as a contour. |
Switching between modes is performed via buttons located in the command's parameters window. The Within Projection mode is active by default, upon calling the command.
