"Hatch" Filling Method. General Parameters of Hatch

10_HatchHatch

The HatchHatch20x20 Hatch filling method fills the hatch contours with straight lines or circular arcs.

Following checkboxes are available at the top of this method's group of parameters:

Circular
This checkbox is disabled by default, so the contour is filled with straight lines (straight filling). If you enable the checkbox, the contour will be filled with concentric circular arcs (circular filling). The arcs' center position depends on the value of the Angle parameter, the difference between radii of adjacent arcs is defined by the Step parameter (see below).

Second
This checkbox is disabled by default, so in case of filling with straight lines all lines are parallel to each other, and in case of filling with arcs all arcs have the same center. If you enable the checkbox, the second filling direction will be added; i.e. in case of filling with straight lines there will be another group of lines parallel to each other, but intersecting with the lines of the first group; and in case of filling with arcs there will be another group of arcs whose center is different from the center of the arcs of the first group.

Below, there are the Angle and Step input boxes. Each of these parameters have two input boxes. Left boxes are related to the first direction of filling, right - to the second one. Right boxes are inactive if the Second checkbox is disabled (see above). The LinkDisabled20x20 button located between each pair of the parameters links the value of the second direction with the value of the first direction. When the linking is enabled, the button gets highlighted LinkEnabled20x20 and the input box of the second direction gets inactive. If you LinkEnabled20x20 Link Angles, then angle value of the second direction will be calculated by adding +90° to the angle value of the first direction. If you LinkEnabled20x20 Link Steps, then step value of the second direction will be equal to the step value of the first direction.

Angle
For straight filling, this parameter defines angle of the lines. Zero value corresponds to horizontal lines. The angle is measured counterclockwise.
For circular filling, this parameter defines the position of arcs' center. The arcs' center is placed at the point of the contour, which is most distant from the center of the contour in the direction defined by the angle. Zero value corresponds to the horizontal left direction. If there are multiple points of the contour located at the same max distance from the center of the contour, then the system selects the one of them, which corresponds to the direction of angle increase. For instance, if we have a rectangular contour formed by horizontal and vertical lines, and the angle value is zero, then all points of the rectangle's left edge are at the same max distance from the center. However, since the angle is measured counterclockwise, the bottom point will be selected.
The hatch editing command allows you to select starting node of hatch. If a starting node of hatch is selected, then this node is used as the center of the arcs of the first direction of circular filling. In case of straight filling, one of the lines passes through the starting node.
Angle values of the first and second direction can be swapped using the FlipDirection2 Reverse direction button located to the right of the angle input boxes

Step
Distance between adjacent filling lines. For circular filling it is also the difference in radii of adjacent arcs.

Line Thickness
Thickness of filling lines. Default value is displayed in square brackets, which means that it is defined by document parameters (Document Parameters > Page > Lines > Lines > Other Lines).

Color of filling lines is not available in parameters window. However, it can be set in the Style group of the Ribbon or in the Filling tab of the hatch parameters dialog. Black color is used by default.
