Contextual menu of elements created in the associative copying mode, as well as contextual menu of copying operation itself contains some specific commands described below.
Contextual menu of an associative copy
Contextual menu of 2D elements created in the associative copying mode contains a special section, which provides command for editing the copying operation. The name of the section coincides with the name of the operation that created this copy: Copy with Translation, Copy with Rotation, Copy with Translation and Rotation, Copy with Scale, Copy with Symmetry, Linear Array, Circular Array, Array by Curve, Array by Table. Moreover, since the detail views (by elements, with caption, by contour) are created using the same copying mechanics, the similar section is available in the contextual menu of detail view's elements.
This section contains following commands:
•Edit Copy
Invokes the command for editing the copying operation, which created the selected copy. This command shouldn't be confused with the eponymous command available at the top level of the menu, which invokes the command for editing the particular copy itself.
•Delete copy
Deletes the copying operation. Upon calling this command, the system asks what should be done with elements created by the deleted operation:
oDelete selected elements and all related elements
Created elements will be deleted along with the operation.
oDelete only selected elements modifying type of related elements
Operation will be deleted, while elements created by it will remain, but lose the associative link with the source elements of copying.
•Parameters of Copy
Invokes the parameters dialog of copying operation, that created the selected copy. The dialog layout depends on, whether it's an array, copy with symmetry or other types of operations.
•Explode Copy
The copies become generic 2D elements and lose associative links with source elements and between each other, as if the Explode Copy mode was used.
•Explode Copy keeping relations
The copies become generic 2D elements and lose associative links with source elements, but retain links between each other, as if the Explode Copy keeping relations mode was used. Upon calling this command, the system asks, if it should "Create Group containing elements created by Explode operation?"
If the exploded operation IS NOT an array, then the question is asked once. Answering "Yes" combines all resulting elements into a single group. Answering "No" explodes copy without grouping.
If the exploded operation IS an array, then the question is asked several times according to the number of copies in array. In result, each copy, for which the "Yes" answer was selected, becomes a separate group of elements.
•Replace by Constraints
Replaces the copying operation by the constraint of the special type, as if the Create copy with constraints mode was used. If such mode is not applicable to the selected operation (Copy with Scale, Copy with Translation and Rotation, Array by Curve, Array by Table), then the result of the Replace by Constraint command will be the same as the Explode Copy command.
•Restore deleted elements
Restores copies, that were deleted using the standard Delete command (not to be confused with the command for deleting the whole copying operation described above).
Additionally, the top level of the contextual menu of graphic lines created by copying contains the Shorten/Extend and Restore commands.
Contextual menu of copying operation
You can select the copying operation itself in the Model Elements window and invoke operation's contextual menu using . Contextual menu of copying operation contains some of the commands described above:
• Edit;
• Delete;
•Explode Copy keeping relations;
